English-speaking interviewers. SRO hires both student workers and extra help workers from the community as telephone interviewers. Those hired must have the capability of interviewing in conversational English. We also use these interviewers to assist in data input and in mail-out survey preparation. At times, we hire specifically for the data input and mail preparation positions.Spanish-speaking interviewers We also hire interviewers who can conduct interviews in Spanish. JOB DESCRIPTION
This position involves contact with the general public on behalf of the University of Illinois and the Survey Research Office's Clients. This position involves interviewing members of the general public, as well as specific publics (i.e. client customers, people in a particular occupation etc.)
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
- Command of conversational American-English.
- The Ability to legibly complete office records in a timely fashion.
- The ability to use telephone and computer keyboard equipment.
- The ability to ask our survey questions as they appear on a computer screen , or as otherwise instructed.
- The ability to use a computer keyboard to record accurately replies, as given by the respondents.
- The ability to type about 30 words per minute
- The capacity to respond calmly and politely to unanticipated responses.
