UIS Office of Electronic Media begins production on Old State Capital Documentary

  “Witness to History” will be the first complete documentary on the Old State Capitol produced in High Definition (HD). The documentary will weave through time from Abraham Lincoln to present day bringing the building’s history and its many lessons to life. Viewers will experience the Old State Capitol and its renovation as it parallels moments in its history. People and events associated with the building that helped shape Illinois and our nation will be featured in new ways.
 

 Historical recreations, photographs, paintings, narrative and interviews along with extensive new footage will combine to tell this story in an educational yet entertaining manner. Written by local author, Tara McClellan McAndrew, and produced by the Office of Electronic Media at the University of Illinois Springfield on DVD and Blu-Ray, “Witness to History” will be distributed throughout Illinois and beyond.

 Shooting began in fall 2012 and will continue through spring 2013 with a scheduled release of spring 2013
