Forum 2: What Works?

PURPOSE: This is the second in a series of forums designed to share information and stimulate dialogue on the far-reaching policy problem of the student achievement gap and its impact on our communities, our economy and out future. This forum will highlight approaches that have worked in closing the gap. A subsequent forum will present hands-on strategies for local action.

SPEAKERS: The forum will feature:
Sam Redding, Ed.D.- Center Director, Center on Innovation and Improvement (Keynote)
Dianne Ashby, Ph.D. - Vice President for University Advancement and former Dean, College of Education, Illinois State University.
Albert Bennett, Ph.D. - Harold Washington Professor of Sociology and Education, Roosevelt University.
Pamela R. Randall, Ed.D. - Deputy Chief Office for High Schools, Chicago Public Schools.
James Rosborg, Ed.D. - Program Coordinator for External Graduate Programs, McKendree College, and former Superintendent, Belleville Public School District #118.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND: Educators, administrators, policy researchers, members of the business community, local and state government representatives, community based organizations, faith-based organizations, and anyone interested in school reform and improving educational outcomes.
