Additional DUI Training Programs
Through funding provided by the Illinois Department of Transportation - Divsion of Traffic Safety the Institute for Legal and Policy Studies conducts training and research efforts to address highway and traffic safety issues posed by the DUI offender. The Institute provides the following:

The development and implementation of specialized training seminars for Illinois Court personnel who work with the DUI offender, emphasizing finding solutions for issues presented by the DUI multiple offender and the drugged driver, including combinations of driving while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol;
Trainings for probation officers and DUI prosecutors practicing in widely diverse counties and are involved in managing high risk DUI offender populations;
Research regarding the identification and recommendation of strategies, programs, sanctions and comprehensive sentencing plans for prosecutors and probation officers working with DUI offenders;
DUI related research addressing Illinois traffic safety issues.
