The Center, in cooperation with the 2015 Lincoln Funeral Coalition, and with the support of The Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Foundation, will present a scholarly symposium on April 30, 2015, titled:"Mourning Father Abraham: Lincoln's Assassination and the Public's Response." The featured speakers will be: Dr. Michael Burlingame, Lynn Distinguished Chair in Lincoln Studies, UIS; Dr. Martha Hodes, Professor of History, New York University; and Dr. Louis Masur, Distinguished Professor of American Studies and History, Rutgers University. The event will be held in Brookens Auditorium at UIS from 7-9 p.m. It is free and open to the public. No reservation is needed. Overflow seating will be available.
